Vikrant Massey, who has already created a space in the hearts of his audiences with some of his brilliant performances, is now all set to star opposite Deepika Padukone in their upcoming film, ‘ Chhapaak. The actor who is currently on a promotion spree opened up about losing his dear friend Kushal Punjabi. Speaking about saving oneself from taking a drastic step such as committing suicide, he reportedly said that the solution to combat such strong emotions is to talking it out to anyone. The actor also threw light on how if a man goes up to his family and says that he is depressed is considered as mental. According to him, the pace at which we're progressing is extremely slow and unfortunate. Elaborating further that he recently lost a friend (Kushal Punjabi) he stressed on the importance of talking and getting things out of our system. He concluded by saying that there is always sunrise after night. Vikrant will be seen playing a pivotal role in Meghna Gulzar s ‘Chhapaak opposite Deepika Padukone. The movie will hit the theatres on January 10, 2020. The film will lock horns with Om Rauts period drama ‘ Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The historical saga will star Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The film also marks Ajay Devgns 100th film.

He was lovely as the broken-hearted investment banker who meets a kindred spirit and must learn to love again. He was equally impactful in the 2018 Amazon Prime Video gangster drama  Mirzapur  where   he was the brains to Ali Fazals brawn. Copy (2018) The rare instance of a Hindi film dabbling in the sci-fi thriller space,  Copy  is a 40-minute short for television written by Sujoy Ghosh in which Vikrant played the dual role of a man and his robot clone. What begins as an attempt to help him manage his marriage and extramarital affair quickly goes wrong as the robot tries to replace him. Vikrant brought genuine credibility and conviction to the film as both selfish adulterer and his chilling doppelgänger. Criminal Justice (2019) The adaptation of the hit British show of the same name   opened to mixed reviews, but it was Vikrants performance that made it so eminently watchable and anchored the series. As the potential murderous psychopath, Vikrant walked the delicate tight rope between two extremes and kept audiences on their toes, whilst also portraying the gradual deterioration of life behind bars. Cargo (2020) In one of his most recent outings, Vikrant starred across Shweta Tripathi in Arati Kadavs ambitious indie set in space. A fascinating examination of connection and isolation, he played a male astronaut with the morbid job of helping the recently deceased pass on to whats next whilst slowly succumbing to loneliness, until a female astronaut is sent to assist him. Vikrant brought a distinct sense of authority and gradual sensitivity to the role of a man whos slowly thawing and rediscovering his humanity. Chhapaak (2020) In Chhapaak, Vikrant plays Amol, a former journalist who now runs an NGO for acid attack survivors. Amol is angry and rarely smiles. During on of his arguments with Malti (played by Deepika Padukone) he says he can barely afford a kurta for himself. In a wonderful scene, Mali reminds him that its her and not him who was suffering from an acid attack. Vikrant makes Amol loveable and earnest. It made such an impact on me, that personally and creatively, I needed to go beyond and so the decision to turn producer, ” Deepika told Mumbai Mirror. In September this year, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Laxmi spoke about her struggle as a single mother, lack of a job and the fear of being evicted from her two-room rented accommodation in Delhis Laxmi Nagar. The story is said to have moved actor Akshay Kumar so much that he transfered Rs 5 lakh to her immediately. Speaking about it, Laxmi said: “I cant express how I feel. my daughter and I are not alone. I have got more than 200 calls since the story published.
